Subcommittees investigate individual issues within the jurisdiction of the Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations. Creating a subcommittee allows members of the General Assembly to focus on a specific issue and report back to the full Commission with findings and recommendations. The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate appoint subcommittee members. Pursuant to S.L. 2021-90, any legislative member (even a member not currently on the Commission) may serve on a subcommittee.
