Use and Distribution of Federal COVID Funding

Subcommittee

From April 2020 through March 2021, Congress passed four bills that authorized $99 billion to North Carolina in COVID pandemic assistance. Families and businesses received $58 billion of that in checks from the federal government or loans through banks. State and local governments had a role in the use and distribution of the other $41 billion.  The Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations created the Subcommittee on the Use and Distribution of Federal COVID Funding to provide oversight of federal COVID funds North Carolina received and the actions taken by state agencies and programs.
