My Liberty Mountain: The Revolutionary Drama Experience
Tanzy B Wallace, America’s Semiquincentennial Public Member
September 19, 2025 was the opening night of Liberty Mountain, The Revolutionary Drama at the Joy Theater Kings Mountain NC.
I had the distinguished honor along with my friends to experience the excitement, enthusiasm and hospitality from the beginning to the end. The environment, the delicious food, the costumes and music set the stage and tone to place your imagination back in the time of the Revolutionary.
As I sat on the balcony, the scenes, action and storyline kept you on edge. The actors and actresses were wonderful! The characters made you feel anger to sadness, excitement, honor and pride. That lets you know they played their roles well! It was encouraging to see all people represented, who played a role in this historical moment. It was also amazing to see all the North Carolina talent that was represented.
I came away with more understanding and knowledge of what actually happened, right here in my own backyard of Cleveland Co. NC…along with an excellent souvenir book to share and reflect upon!
My hats off to all the sponsors, organizers, actors, technical team and volunteers. The play is still going on. If you are in the Kings Mountain area, it is worth coming to see this drama. To find out more information on performance times go to:
