To the minutes of that meeting, they added their thoughts on independence and their determination to see it through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This document became known as the Halifax Resolves. It was the first official action by any of the thirteen colonies on the road to independence from Great Britain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Saturday, April 12, 2025, will be the 250th anniversary of the Halifax Resolves.
